Description

Manor Farmhouse is a large farmhouse that likely dates back to the 17th century, with later enlargement in the 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, featuring dressed stone quoins, and has a stone slate roof, with concrete tile and corrugated asbestos at the rear. The building includes a stump of an ashlar stack and a 20th-century imitation ashlar stack, along with a part brick and part ashlar stack at the rear.

The farmhouse has a long rectangular 18th-century range, with an earlier range at right angles to the rear and a further extension to the gable end of the early range. There is a small square outbuilding at the southeast corner and lean-to extensions at the rear of the 18th-century range, creating a 'T'-shaped overall plan.

The entrance front has five windows, featuring four cross windows with narrow wood mullions on the ground floor and five matching windows above on the first floor. The central 18th-century door has six flush panes, and to the right of the door is a tall single-light window with a horizontal glazing bar. All windows and the door have dressed stone side alternate jambs. There are five 2-light hipped roof dormers with early leaded panes.

The earlier range at the rear includes single 3-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements, with stopped hoods above two similar windows that are now blocked, replaced with 2-pane sash windows. There is also a single round-headed light with carved spandrels in the attic. The square outbuilding features a reused bull's eye window and has a pyramidal roof. The gable-end stacks and flat coping are characteristic of the 18th-century range. The interior is not accessible.
