Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with an extension from the 18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with flush quoins and features a hipped and sprocketed stone slate roof adorned with ball finials and a moulded fascia. The building has a large, partly stepped external stone stack with offsets on the left-hand return and a stone ridge stack.

The main structure is a large square range of two storeys and an attic, with a rear two-storey range to the right, likely from the 18th century, and a return single-storey service or agricultural range that forms a three-sided courtyard at the back of the house. The façade has five windows, which are two-light ovolo-moulded stone mullions with transoms and plain casements, four of which are on the ground floor and all have continuous dripmoulds.

There is a central stone doorcase with a pulvinated surround, a large flat hood supported by curved brackets, and a small two-light stone window above with a triangular pediment and a dripmould. The door is a six-panel design, with the top four panels glazed and the lower two flush. The returns feature similar fenestration, with those on the left-hand return having square hoodmoulds. Some lights are blocked, and there are possibly 19th-century renewals. The right-hand return has one hipped dormer with leaded casements and a ball finial, while the rear has two dormers.

There is a small added room on the left-hand return, a two-storey corner inset at the rear, likely from the 20th century. The rear features one large three-light mullion and transom window. The interior is not accessible but may hold interest.
