Description
The stable block at the King's Arms is a building associated with the inn, likely constructed in the early 18th century. It is made of painted rubble stone and features large flush quoins, topped with a stone slate roof that is hipped at the southeast end. The structure has a large T-shaped layout, with small lean-tos on the north side of both wings, each covered with double Roman tile roofs. The east side, facing the inn, has various openings, mostly with timber lintels. This includes a stable door and a 2-light window above the main stem of the T, as well as a plank door and small window for each lean-to. There is also a large 20th-century garage door in what is likely a former coach opening beneath the hipped end. Attached to the south wall is a 20th-century bus shelter, which is not of special interest.
