Description
Springfield Cottage is a former pair of cottages that has been converted into a single property, likely dating from the late 18th century. The building is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof with stone end stacks. It is a single range of two storeys and an attic, with later lean-tos added to each end. Originally, each cottage had two windows on each floor and a central door; however, the doorway on the left has been converted into a window, and all windows are now 20th-century UPVC two-light designs with timber lintels. The doorway on the right retains a half-glazed four-panel door and a small gabled porch, both likely from the 19th century. There has been some renewal of the fenestration at the rear. The lean-to on the right has a corrugated asbestos roof, and above its gable apex is a moulded stone oval light set in a rectangular stone frame.
