Description
This barn, located approximately 15 meters northeast of Towbury Farm, dates back to the 18th century. It features square-panelled timber framing with passing braces and brick infill, although some sections are now covered with weatherboarding. The roof is made of corrugated asbestos, which replaced the original thatch. The barn has a rectangular plan and includes 20th-century lean-tos on the east and west walls, as well as a brick lean-to at the south gable end, which are not considered of special interest. There are opposing double doors on the east and west walls. Inside, the barn has five bays with original roof trusses, including queen post trusses flanking the threshing floor and other trusses with raking struts. The roof also features double purlins and some windbracing.
