Description
This is an 18th-century barn located at Manor Farm Buildings, featuring a gable end facing the road. The barn is constructed with weatherboarded square-panelled timber framing, retaining some small fragments of wattle and daub, and has a rubble plinth. It has a corrugated asbestos roof with quarter hips, which was probably originally thatched. The barn has a rectangular plan and an open-fronted store at the east gable end, which is not of special interest.
On the south-facing elevation, there are 19th-century plank doors located off-centre to the left, with similar doors opposite. The west gable end has 20th-century garage doors. Inside, the barn features four bays with a loft floor on either side of the threshing floor. The original queen post roof includes raking struts from the main wall posts to the soffit of the tie-beam, curving braces from the upper surface of the principal first floor beams to the wall posts, a halved apex, and carpenter's marks at the joints.
