Description
This is a barn dating from the 18th century, located to the west of New House Farmhouse in Church Stretton. The barn features weatherboarded timber frame side walls that rest on high brick bases, with brick gable ends, all set on a rubble stone plinth. It has a plain-tile roof and is a single storey with a loft.
On the east side, there are 19th-century boarded central double barn doors, along with a single door and a loft door. The right-hand side is obscured by 20th-century farm sheds. The south gable end has two tiers of ventilation slits and a boarded loft door. The remaining sides are also partly concealed by 20th-century farm sheds.
Inside, the barn has a twin trenched-purlin roof supported by four double raking strut trusses.
