Description

This building, dated 1603, is a house that was used as a Congregational church in the late 19th century. It features painted square-panelled timber framing that is three panels high, with painted infill panels. The roof is covered with plain tiles and includes 20th-century rooflights, along with integral 20th-century brick chimneys at the ridge and eaves. The structure has a simple two-cell plan.

The exterior is a single storey with an attic. The south front has three 20th-century two-light casements and one single casement, with a straight tension brace to the left. There is a painted raised fleurs-de-lys motif and the date '1603' in the infill panels to the right. The west gable end features two tension braces at the ground floor and a central 20th-century projecting oriel window. It also has a straight tie beam and two 20th-century two-light casements set in the vertical struts of the gable truss, which includes a collar and twin raking struts above.

On the north side, there is a tension brace to the right, a boarded front door, and a painted 17th-century projecting face-fixed mullion window with a moulded sill to the left. The east gable end has a single two-light casement set in vertical struts with a collar and twin raking struts above, a straight tie beam, and the ground level is covered by a later lean-to extension. The interior has not been inspected.
