Description
Orchard Cottage and No. 1 Orchard Court is a pair of 18th-century houses that were formerly one building. They are located behind the houses on Barton Street, Nos 51 and 52, and feature a parallel range with an internal valley gutter. The structure is made of brick, with a painted gable that retains some timber-framing, and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has three windows. There are two small 2-light 19th-century raking dormers in the half-hipped mansard roof, situated above three 20th-century casement windows on the first floor, and two more on the ground floor. The ground floor windows have segmental brick heads with flat extrados and a central key, all set on stone cills. A central 20th-century porch is also present. The interior has not been inspected.
