Description
Orchard Cottage and Orchard House, formerly known as Stone Cottages, is a house that has been divided into two dwellings, dating from the 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble stone with quoins and features a plain tile roof, which has brick stacks at the right ridge and end. It stands two storeys high and has five windows on the front. From the left, the windows include a 2-light casement, a 1-light window, a 2-light window, a 1-light window, and a 2-light horizontal sliding sash. On the ground floor, from the left, there are two 4/4 sashes with glazing bars that divide the sash vertically into narrow and wide panels, followed by a 1-light casement, a door with an overlight set into an original wider frame, and a 2-light casement with a top light. The left end features a wooden gabled porch with a door, while the right end has a whitewashed brick lean-to.
