Description

The Old Rectory is a house dating from the 18th century, with extensions added in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with quoins and features red brick elements. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has brick stacks at the ends and in the valleys. The building has three gables facing the front, with the central gable projecting slightly.

The structure consists of two sections, with the gable facing range on the right being the earlier part. The gables are topped with stone copings, tiny shoulders, and kneelers. The house is two and a half storeys high, featuring two centre-opening three-light casement windows, one located in each of the centre and left gables, all with cambered lintels.

On the ground floor, from left to right, there is a two-light wooden mullion and transom window, a similar five-light canted bay window, a gabled porch that has a Gothic arch and a part-glazed door, and another two-light window. The gable of the porch, as well as those of the centre and left roof, are adorned with wavy bargeboards. In the attic of the right gable, there is a single Gothic arched window with a diamond lattice casement. The right end of the house features additional casements and a two-light dormer.
