Description

The barn at Home Farm is an 18th-century structure, dated 1832. It is built from coursed rubble stone, squared stone, and red brick, featuring a chequer pattern with black brick in parts. The roof is covered with corrugated iron over thatch. This long barn is mainly one storey high. The gable facing the front has a large central doorway that has been blocked with red and black brick in a chequer pattern, along with a small boarded window above it. There is a red brick gable with a tablet inscribed 'I.H.D. 1832'. On the right side, there are doors. The roof consists of single purlin roof tie-beam trusses with clasped principals and collars where they are visible.
