39 Barton Street is a house in a row, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a tiled roof. The building has three storeys and a basement, with two windows on the front. All the windows are late 20th century replacements in the original openings, which are topped with brick voussoirs. There is a basement grille and to the left, an arched opening leads to a 20th century door. The house has a coped parapet and a tall brick chimney stack on the right.
