Description
22 Church Street is a house in a row, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork, a slate roof, and a brick chimney stack.
The building has three storeys and a basement, with two windows on the front. The first floor has a tall 12-pane sash window with brick voussoirs and a keystone, along with a stone sill. The ground floor has been rebuilt in the 20th century, featuring a tripartite window with 8:12:8 panes beneath a stone frieze and drip course, along with a basement grille. To the right, there is a six-panel door topped by a transom light. The chimney stack is located to the right, and the low-pitched hipped slate roof is set behind a parapet, with a projecting box eaves over a plain frieze band. At the back, there is a deep wing that includes a large 12-pane sash window and two 20-pane sashes at different levels, with a chimney stack near the back of the wing.
The interior has not been inspected.
