Description
Croft Cottage is a small detached house dating from the 17th century. It features a timber-frame structure with plaster or brick panels, a tiled roof, and a brick stack. The cottage is a single storey with an attic, positioned at the end of the court and has a gable on the right side, along with a later gabled wing at the rear. A large brick stack is located on the left gable. Facing Church Street, there is a plank door beneath a swept-down roof and one casement window. The gabled return showcases square panel framing set on a rubble-stone plinth, with a two-light casement window in the gable and a small horizontal light at ground level. The rear wing contains a plank door in the re-entrant angle and features 1980s replica framing. Although the interior was not accessible, it is noted to have a large wood bressumer fireplace on the left side.
