Description
Dove and Pax Cottages and garages, originally a barn, were converted into two semi-detached cottages in the late 20th century. The structure dates back to the 17th century and features roughly squared, coursed stone at the plinth, with timber-framing above and rendered panels. The roof is thatched, while the low wing has a stone slate roof. The building consists of a four-bay barn with a two-bay low wing at one end, aligned with the road.
The road-facing side has timber framing that is three panels high. There are double-boarded doors accessed by one stone step from the road, with separate hanging stiles on each side, and weatherboard and narrow panels above. To the left, there is one bay and a buttress by the door's sill wall, along with two two-light casements in the framing. To the right, there are two buttresses at the sill, with a recess for a water tap in between and three two-light casements. The roof has a half-hip design. The right return features a half-glazed door with a curved brace corner post leading to the tie beam, a two-light casement, and paired two-light casements in the gable. Set back on the right, the stone wall of the low wing has a two-light casement and a half-hip roof.
