Description

These are a pair of cottages with an attached barn, dating to the 17th century with an 18th-century addition and barn. The cottages are timber-framed with colourwashed brick infill and rendered cob additions, set on a flint and brick plinth. The roof is thatched, with older plain tiles covering the barn. The barn has a half-hipped roof. The main structure is 1½ storeys and 2 bays, with two further bays added to the left and a two-bay barn added to the right in the 18th century. There is a planked door in the left bay and another at the right end of the 17th-century section, with double doors in the right bay. A two-light casement window is present in all bays except for the right-hand bay. An eyebrow dormer with a two-light casement window sits over the right-hand frame bay and the right cob bay. The thatched roof is half-hipped to the left with a ridge piece and stacks at either end of the timber-framed portion. The barn’s roof is half-hipped to the right with a lower ridge.
