Description

This is a group of five tombchests located south of the south porch of St Mary's Church in Longstock. They date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The tombchests feature inscribed stone slabs set against brick walls, all dedicated to members of the Cole family. Most inscriptions are nearly illegible, but the visible names include Roger Cole from 1817, Thomas Cole, and Jane (née Cole), who was the wife of John Dowling.
