Description

The Old Vicarage is an early 19th-century building, now a private residence, that originally served as a vicarage. It is constructed of colourwashed brick with a slate roof. The main building is two storeys and comprises two bays by two bays, with a lower service range extending to the rear and right. The front elevation features a central six-panel door, topped with a skylight, set within a timber doorcase of Doric design, topped by a tall entablature and a small flat hood. Large sixteen-pane sashes flank the door, each set beneath a rubbed brick arch. A string course runs along the first floor, above which are three further sixteen-pane sashes, also with rubbed brick arches. The eaves are wide and flat, with paired modillioned brackets. The roof is hipped, with a chimney stack on the right hip.
