Description
Darke's Farm Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 17th century. It has a rectangular shape with timber framing and painted brick infill, which has been partly rebuilt and encased in random limestone. The right gable end is partially covered with weatherboarding. The cottage features a thatched roof with a rendered brick chimney stack. There are 20th-century painted brick extensions at the rear, which are not of special interest. The main body of the cottage is 1½ storeys tall and has four 2-light casement windows without glazing bars on the ground floor facing the garden. There is a single 2-light eyebrow dormer located off-centre to the left, and two similar 2-light casements are positioned high up in the right gable end. An axial stack is present, and access to the cottage is now through a 20th-century plank door leading into a 20th-century porch. The interior has not been inspected.
