Description
The Cleevelands is a large detached house built with rendered brick and topped with a slate roof featuring rendered stacks. It has two storeys and a rectangular plan, with a wing set at an angle on the north side. The garden front consists of three bays, highlighted by a central two-storey bow window with three windows, each fitted with 12-pane sashes. Moulded hoods supported by console brackets are positioned over the ground floor windows, and there is a blind central window on the first floor. A band runs between the floors, and flat-chamfered quoins extend up to the height of this band.
To the left, the angled north wing includes a three-light canted bay on the ground floor, featuring sash windows with horizontal glazing bars. Above this bay, part-glazed French doors open onto a roof, which is bordered by a low parapet adorned with swag decoration. Narrow sash windows are located on either side of the French doors. Access to the house is through a 19th-century six-panel door with a fanlight above, situated within an open-sided porch supported by Doric columns. The main body of the house has a hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected.
