Description

The Georgian House is an early 19th-century detached house, and it may incorporate an earlier building within its structure. It is constructed with a basement of coursed, squared, and dressed limestone, with painted and rendered brick above basement level. The house has a rectangular main body set at a right angle to Prestbury High Street, with extensions to the rear. It has two storeys and a basement.

The front facade is three windows wide, featuring 12-pane sashes, with a tripartite sash window on the upper right. All windows are within plain architraves. A central 19th-century part-glazed door, with marginal glazing bars and a rectangular hall light, is accessed from a glass-roofed verandah extending across the front of the main body. Bracketed timber supports the lean-to roof, and lattice work is positioned at either end of the verandah. A plain pedimented parapet tops the facade, with swags either side of the pedimented section. Sash windows, some of which are blocked, are present on the right-hand return (facing onto the High Street), also with plain architraves. A two-storey bow window is located at the left gable end. The interior remains uninspected.
