Description
This barn, located approximately 10 metres northeast of Bow Bridge Cottage, dates from the 17th to early 18th century. It features square-panelled timber framing and has a corrugated asbestos roof, which was originally thatched. The barn has a rectangular plan and includes a 20th-century lean-to at the gable end facing the road, although this is not of special interest. The opposite gable end is weatherboarded, and there are opposing double plank doors in the north and south walls. Four ventilation holes are arranged in the shape of a cross at the centre of each panel. The roof is half-hipped at the west gable end. Inside, the barn consists of four bays, with some original roof trusses featuring double purlins and king post roof trusses.
