Description

This milestone, located about 50 meters south of the drive to Hygrove House, is likely from the early 19th century. It is made of stone and features a thick, single piece with a cambered top. The face of the milestone has sans serif lettering that is painted, displaying the distances: '4 / TO / GLO'STER / 7 / TO / NEWNHAM'. It appears to have been reset, as the face is positioned at right angles to the road.
