Description

This milestone, dating from the early 19th century, is located to the north-north-east of Blakemore. It is made of white painted granite and has a square shape, set diagonally to the road. The back of the milestone is roughly hewn, while the two sides facing the road are dressed with rounded tops. Each of the two faces features black painted lettering carved in lower case with serifs, indicating distances: "To Plymth 20 miles. To Totnes 2 miles."
