HARBERTON SX76SE 5/394 BLAKEMORE Meadow View

GV II

Cottage, probably originally a small farmhouse. Circa C17 or earlier with C17 rear wing. Rendered stone rubble. Asbestos slate roof with half-hipped higher (south) end to right and gabled lower left end. Tall rendered lateral front stack with set offs. Plan: Originally a 3 room and through passage plan, the inner room now part of hall and the lower left end probably rebuilt now with lower roof level. Front lateral hall stack. Circa later C17 wing at rear of higher end with lateral stack and later lean-to at side in angle with main range. Rear doorway of passage blocked. Exterior: 2 storeys. 2 window range. C20 casements. Central projecting lateral hall stack. Large C20 window to right and C20 glazed passage door to left with slated canopy over. 2 flat roof hall dormers at eaves level. Lower left end has lower corrugated iron roof and C20 garage doors. Interior inaccessible at time of survey. Hall has chamfered ceiling beam. Partition between hall and former inner room has been removed. The roof structure might be of interest.
