Description
The Old Cottage is a semi-detached cottage dating from the 17th to early 18th century. It features square-panelled timber-framing with painted brick infill set on a coursed, roughly squared and dressed limestone plinth. The right gable end is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a red tile roof and red brick stacks. The building has a rectangular plan with a later lean-to addition on the right gable end. It is 1½ storeys high, with a single-storey extension. The front facing the road has two 2-light windows, one 3-light window, and one 4-light window, all of which are 20th-century wooden casements. There are also one 2-light and two 3-light 20th-century dormers with weatherboarded gables, along with gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
