Description

This is a barn dating from the early 17th century, located approximately 35 meters south-west of Full of Elms. It features weatherboarded close-studded timber framing set on a squared and dressed limestone sill wall. The roof is covered with Roman tiles, likely replacing the original thatch. The barn has a rectangular plan and includes an open-fronted shelter shed at the north-east corner. There are lean-to extensions on all sides of the barn, except for the shelter shed, which are not considered of special interest. The barn has large double plank doors at the center of the south-east side and smaller double plank doors on the opposite wall. Inside, the barn consists of three bays with original roof trusses that include a tie beam with straight braces, raking struts, and a collar beam. The open-fronted shelter shed still retains its original mangers.
