Description
Nos 22 and 24 Butt Street are two houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from random rubble limestone with ashlar chimneys and feature a stone slate roof. The buildings are three stories tall.
The front of No 22, located on the right, originally had a central doorway with a range of windows on either side. The doorway has since been moved to the former window position on the left, and a window is now in the center. All the windows, which were originally sashes, have been replaced with casements that include glazing bars, and they retain their original openings with plain raised surrounds.
No 24, on the left, has a three-window arrangement, all of which are 16-pane sashes with plain raised surrounds and floor level bands. It features a central doorway with a 20th-century door. There are three chimneys mounted on the ridges. The interior has not been inspected.
