Description
Highcliffe is a house located at the end of a row in Minchinhampton, dating from around 1820. It is constructed of random rubble limestone with ashlar chimneys and features a stone slate roof. The building is three stories tall and has a rear wing.
The front of the house has a three-window arrangement, with 12-pane sash windows on the ground and middle floors, and a 9-pane sash on the upper floor. There are blocked openings at the center. A central doorway features a glazed door with marginal glazing bars and is topped by a flat porch hood supported by decorative cast-iron brackets. The eaves have a moulded cornice with a blocking course, and the gable end chimneys have hollow moulded caps.
On the northeast side facing the road, there are 16-pane sash windows with plain architraves on the upper floors. The street doorway has a 6-panel door with a sash window above, also featuring marginal glazing bars. To the left on the ground floor, there is a 6-pane sash window. The interior has not been inspected. The house is attached to Nos 22 and 24, which are also part of the same row and connect to the rear wing.
