Description
Rectory Cottage is a detached house located in Minchinhampton Market Square. It dates from the mid to late 17th century and was remodelled in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of random rubble limestone, with some areas roughcast rendered, and features ashlar chimneys and a stone slate roof.
The house is two storeys high and has a rear wing at the east end. The front likely consisted of two original houses, with the right part projecting forward. It has a two-window arrangement with 12-pane sash windows and stone lintels. There is a doorway on the left with a 20th-century glazed door. The rendered section of the elevation is recessed to the left, featuring a 12-pane sash window on each floor and a doorway with a chamfered opening, also with a glazed door. The gable end chimneys include one with a dentil enriched cap. The rear wing has restored mullioned windows. The interior has not been inspected.
