Description
Gravel Court Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the late 16th century. It features a timber frame with roughcast exterior and random rubble limestone chimneys topped with ashlar shafts. The roof is made of artificial stone slate. The building is single-storey with an attic and has a lateral chimney.
On the east side, there are scattered timber casements in the roughcast elevation, and a plank door leads to a central cross passage, which is sheltered by a glazed 20th-century porch. There are three gabled roof dormers, with the right one containing a three-light chamfered mullioned casement. The right side has a lateral chimney stack with a brick rebuilt shaft, and there is a central ridge-mounted chimney with a moulded skirt.
The south end features a projecting stepped chimney stack with a moulded skirt, while the north end has roughcast on a limestone plinth and a casement window on each floor. The west side has timber casements, and there is an attached 20th-century outbuilding at the center, which is not of special interest. The interior has not been inspected.
