Description

Nupend Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with later additions from the late 18th or early 19th century. The exterior is constructed of random rubble limestone with roughcast render, with coursed rubble additions and brick rebuilt chimneys. The roof is covered in stone slates. The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic, and has a rear wing to the west.

The south front has a scattered arrangement of 20th-century metal casement windows, except for one small timber casement on the ground floor. A doorway towards the west end is accessed via a 20th-century door and timber porch hood. A gabled roof dormer features a 20th-century casement. There are two ridge chimneys, rebuilt in brick.

The north side has a gabled projection to the left, featuring a chimney and a recessed cavetto moulded light on the upper floor, complete with a hoodmould. A two-storey wing to the right has a single east-facing window. Another wing is located further to the right.

The east end has a single window to the gable end, a two-light window which has been refitted with a 20th-century casement after the mullion was removed; and a single attic light with a flat hood. The interior has not been inspected. A barn to the southwest is separately listed.
