Description
Nupend Cottage is a detached house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of random rubble limestone with ashlar chimneys and a stone slate roof. The front elevation has a five-window arrangement, with windows spaced irregularly. These are timber casements with Gothic glazing bars, set within flat stone arches. The centrally positioned doorway has a six-panel door and a decorative Regency porch with a tent-shaped hood. A plain eaves level band runs along the roofline. Two ridge chimneys are present, each with moulded caps. A taller rear wing was increased in height during the early 19th century. A 20th-century flat-roofed addition to the east end is not considered to be of special interest. The interior has not been inspected.
