Description
The Old White Hart is a former inn that has been converted into a detached house. It dates from the early to mid-17th century, with a 19th-century addition. The building is constructed of random rubble limestone, featuring artificial stone rebuilt chimneys and a stone slate roof. It is a single-storey structure with an attic and a high cellar storey, along with a single-storey addition at the north end that also has an attic.
The east front displays two full gables, each topped with a small-pane attic casement that has a timber lintel. The ground floor and cellar have small-pane timber casements, and there is a doorway to the right of the center, which features a six-panel door and a timber lintel. There are indications of blocked openings in the gable apexes. A small 19th-century addition with a hipped roof is located below the right gable and is built of very large ashlar, containing one four-pane sash window. The lower part of the building to the right has 20th-century casements, including two in eaves-level dormers. The rear of the building also has two full gables. The interior has not been inspected. The Old White Hart has been recorded as an inn since 1798 and is part of a group with The Cottage.
