Description
This is an unidentified chest tomb located approximately 9 metres east of the south porch at the Church of St John the Evangelist. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a moulded top and a cavetto base, which was partly concealed at the time of the survey. The east and west ends of the tomb have a fulloche top and a fluted base, which is a reversal of the usual design system. There are raised circular panels and elliptical panels adorned with swags or rosettes on the north and south sides. The inscriptions on the tomb are not legible. It is situated immediately to the west of the Humphrey Wind tomb.
