Description
No. 26 Long Street is a dwelling and bookshop dated 'P.S.M. 1818'. It is a single block deep span building made of brick, which was formerly painted on the facade only. The structure features a parapet with a wooden cornice and a slate roof. It has three storeys with two windows, which are sashes with bars set into reveals. The windows have stepped voussoirs and painted keystones. The late 19th-century shop front consists of two bays with a central door and flanking pilasters. The door to the dwelling is a good six-panel design with a fanlight and radial bars under a semi-circular archivolt or hood, all surrounded by a painted stone plat band.
