Description
No. 29 Long Street is a dwelling and shop dated 1748. The building features a rendered exterior with a parapet and plain stone coping, topped with double Roman tiles, while the rear wall is made of painted rubble. It is a plain block structure with stone stacks at either end. The building has three storeys: the top floor has two closely set sash windows, the first floor has three sash windows, all of which have glazing bars; the ground floor includes one sash window with vertical bars, positioned left of centre next to a good six-panel door with a shallow plain fanlight. All windows and the door are set in deep reveals. The late 19th-century shop front has two bays and a central door. The back of the building features a pointed sash window with interlaced Y-tracery and a four-light casement window with a transom under a wood lintel. A date panel reading 'W.S.E. ... 48' is located immediately below the top sashes, carved on a square date-stone with lettering on a recessed shield.
