ST 7693 4/13 WOTTON-UNDER-EDGE BRADLEY STREET 23.6.52 (south) No. 2 (Old Police Station) (formerly listed as Police Station) GV II

Dwelling, one time Police Station and formerly public house. Late C18 with large late C19, courtroom extension. Rendered and ashlared, rusticated quoins, concrete tile roof. Front to High Street three storey, two windowed, wide spaced, sashes with glazing bars; blind panel with moulded edge centrally to first floor. Two small window slits, on return, left. Six-panel false door, radial fanlight, Ionic three-quarter column doorcase with open pediment wood. Bradley Street facade three storey, three windowed, sashes with glazing bars and six-panel flush door under five light rectangular fanlight; also large extension in squared and snecked dressed stone slate roof, two blind openings and one large sash with bars, first floor; two small sashes ground floor: contains courtroom and cell block. This item very important in streetscape as visual stop to main street looking west, and for value in the group comprising Haw Street, west.
