Description
The Royal Oak is an inn that dates back to the 17th century, with a facade that was mainly altered in the 19th century. It features rough render and a stone slate roof, while a projecting wing has rough render and a clay double roman tile roof. The building has a two-part frontage, each section with three windows, and there is a change in roof level. It stands two storeys tall, with recent double sash windows that lack bars, although some have leading at the ground floor. All windows have external recent shutters. To the left, there is a large square opening and a six-panel recessed door, which is modern, along with a flat hood supported by large consoles. To the right, there is a recent glazed projecting bay. Inside, the inn contains wall paintings in the front first floor lounge, although these are now concealed by partitioning.
