Description

The Bradford Monument is a chest tomb located about 7 meters southeast of the Wick Monument in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin. It dates from 1748 and is dedicated to Thomas Bradford. The tomb is made of limestone and features a flat top with a moulded plinth and capping on a large base. It has panelled pilaster corners, with the eastern end displaying a bellied cartouche and the western end featuring a cherub head accompanied by a skull and crossbones. The sides of the tomb are divided into two fielded panels by a panelled pilaster strip.
