Description
Everes's Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, with early 19th-century alterations. It features a rendered exterior, probably over timber framing, set on a stone plinth, with painted English bond brickwork and a tiled roof. The building has an 'H' plan layout with a leanto against the right wing and stands two storeys high.
The front facade shows a left gable with smooth render, a central section of brick, and a right gable with rough render, while the leanto is made of brick. On the ground floor, there is a 4-pane window on the left, and a single-storey canted bay with a 6-pane sash and a flat roof is set back on the right. To the right of this is a flat-roofed porch with trellis sides, leading to a 6-panel door that is accessed by two stone steps; the top two panels of the door are glazed, while the bottom is flush, and there is a cambered brick arch above it. The right wing extends further than the left and features a canted, single-storey, flat-roofed bay with a 16-pane sash window. Additionally, there is a boarded door leading to the cellar in the leanto, with steps down and a boarded door above that has a glass pane at the top, covered by weatherboarding.
On the first floor, the left gable has a 3-light casement, while the central eaves are slightly higher and contain a 2-light and a 3-light casement, along with a 16-pane sash in the right gable. There is a brick chimney on the ridge aligned with the left end of the central section, and two brick chimneys are located from the eaves on the right return. The interior has not been inspected, and the farmhouse likely incorporates elements from various periods of construction.
