Description
This is a stable located at Ellwood Lodge, built in the late 17th century. It is constructed from rubblestone and has a corrugated iron roof. The stable is a single storey with a lean-to structure on the left side. On the east gable end, there is a stable door with a wooden lintel, along with a small rectangular opening above it and a smaller triangular opening above that. This design is said to be typical of Monmouthshire farm buildings from the mid to late 17th century. The lean-to features a very small doorway with a wooden lintel and a small rectangular vent above. The stable is included in the listing primarily for its group value with Ellwood Lodge.
