11/233 Cadle monument in churchyard about 17m north-north-east of north-east corner of tower, Church of St. Peter and St. Paul

GV II

Pedestal tomb; Elizabeth Cadle died 1853; stone. Square dome, above thin gadrooning, cavetto moulding, roll and step, all on flat lid with moulded edge. Lid and step have indented corners, as does main body below. Fluted frieze. South face large raised oval with tendrils and flowers around within narrow margin; north face plain oval only; west oval with projecting leaf wreath around top two-thirds; east face plain oval formed by recessed line. A little weathering. East face records children who died 1832 to 1855. One of a group of Cadle monuments, 4 others listed (q.v.).
