Description
The Cadle monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 14 metres north-north-east of the north-east corner of the tower of the Church of St Peter and St Paul. It commemorates John Cadle, who died in 1755, and is made of stone. The tomb features a flat lid with a simply moulded edge and quarter-square bulbous corner balusters. The main central section of the sides is flanked by narrow ends, each slightly recessed and having a beaded edge. The end panels are plain with a moulded edge, and the tomb has a moulded base. This monument is part of a group of Cadle monuments, with four others listed nearby.
