Description

Westbury House is a detached house dating from the early 19th century, and possibly incorporating elements of an earlier building. It has an ashlar plinth and is constructed of red-brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a tiled roof. The house is three windows wide and two rooms deep, with a catslide roof to the rear. It is two storeys high, with attics to the front.

The front door is centrally located and accessed by two stone steps. The door itself is a late 20th-century addition, being half-glazed and set within a moulded wooden surround with thin pilasters, topped by an open segmental porch supported by brackets and covered with a lead roof. Sashes with four panes are located on either side of the front door, with stone sills and lintels featuring splayed ends. Similar windows are on the first floor, although the central window has three panes. The eaves are dentilated, with two offsets below, and include brick-on-edge dentils. Brick gable chimneys are concealed within the roof. The gables at the front are rendered, with a 340mm brick return. A two-light casement window with leaded lights and an iron opening light is located in the left-hand gable, serving the attic. The interior has not been inspected.
