Description

The Ship Inn and Ships Cottage are an inn and former coaching house, dating to the early and mid-19th century. The left half of the building is L-shaped and two storeys high, with a gabled projection to the left. This section has a two-storey canted bay with a hipped roof, featuring sash windows without bars. Above a former shop front is a single sash window without bars, and a six-panel door with a transom light. The right-hand section is three storeys high and two windows wide, with sash windows containing glazing bars. A wide, set-back opening has new doors, and a small sash window is located above at the first floor level. There is a 19th-century shop front and door on the right. The building is rendered and painted with Welsh slate roofs. The property is included in the register mainly for its group value.
