Description
Kingston House is a dwelling dating from the 16th century, with alterations made at various times up to the 19th century. The building features a rendered colored exterior and an ashlar finish, topped with a concrete tile roof. It stands three storeys high and has three windows across the front. On the ground floor, there are three sash windows without bars. The first floor has two four-light stone ovolo moulded mullioned windows, which have steep canted sills and new drips above, with one horizontal bar and one opening light in each. The second floor contains two small wide-set sashes with glazing bars. A modern glazed door is located off-center to the right, sheltered by a fine pointed shell hood supported on consoles. Inside, there are moulded and panelled ceilings on the ground floor to the right, along with a large bressummer over the fire opening. The building features heavy stopped beams, including 'peg' decoration on the first floor, and a very heavy beam over the cellar, which has a stone flag floor. The staircase has been replaced.
