Description
Northington Cottage is a 17th-century dwelling located on Northington Lane. It is constructed from rubble with a Welsh slate roof and has an L-shaped layout, featuring a single dormer on each arm. The entrance is situated in the right wing of the building, and there is a new stack on the outer right gable that likely replaces an earlier stack. A buttress is positioned at the outer corner of the L shape, and there is a bread oven at the left end gable. The cottage has one and a half storeys, with a one-windowed left wing and a two-windowed right wing, along with a very small fixed light in the upper right. All windows have been replaced with new casements. The modern door is framed in a heavy 17th-century ovolo moulding and is located in the internal corner of the L, facing east. Some timber framing can be found within the structure.
