Description
Stockley Cottage is a 17th-century house constructed of rubble with coped verges and a double-Roman tiled roof, featuring three ashlar stacks. The building is two storeys tall and has a layout of one bay on the left and three bays on the right, with predominantly two and four-light moulded stone-mullioned windows on the ground floor that have labels and iron casements. The central entrance consists of a 20th-century ribbed door with a stone slab hood supported by brackets. To the left of the main structure, there is a single-storeyed wing that is set at right angles to the frontage, which includes a large 19th-century mullioned and transomed window, as well as a 20th-century garage door. Inside, there are notable features such as two fireplaces with wooden bressumers and a bread oven. The cottage is prominently positioned along the roadside.
